As seen on the official Lucidity Festival website this is how they describe their event. THE FESTIVAL This is an open-source transformational arts and music festival. We call it open-source because we co-create this festival experience with YOU! We invite you to come play with us, get involved with one of our seven themed villages, call together your star family, bring art, lead a workshop, spark a spontaneous flash mob, embody a character from your dreams, be silly and wild and free! We bring together a world class lineup of musical talent and weave them together with the sounds and vibrations of our beloved local stars. Our galleries showcase the sickest fine art the region has to offer, enriching the festival as a visual voyage. Art installations pleasure participants with multi-sensory stimulation while themed environments create intimate settings for personal connections. Lucidity’s environmental commitment is to leave Live Oak better than before. When we become lucid in our dreams, we realize ourselves as infinite potential, we let go of fear, and we are free to create that which we want to see in the world. Bring those visions, those possibilities, and that delicious conscious energy with you to Lucidity and wake up in the dream. THE HISTORY It began with a collective dream of the community. Separate entities within the Santa Barbara arts, music, and consciousness community were fostering dreams of a greater vision than they were able to produce on their own. Granted, their individual realizations and accomplishments are noteworthy in their own right… Luke Holden had begun a successful business with Branches Mobile Gallery, which would later become a hotspot of excitement and late-night activity at Lucidity 2012. Satory Palmer was involved with the Isla Vista Circus, and was starting to work on his own production company Synaptic Productions. Andrew Garrard had been working with StateSide Magazine and the production of AMASS Gallery. Fishbon board member and Walkabout Woods co-founder, Jonah Haas, was coming off the heels of a successful, large-scale Burningman (2011) art installation with the inspiration to create something large around Lucid Dreaming. The Collective Exp and its co-founder, Alan Avila, were producing community events that inspired civic action as well as music and dance. The Collective was developing new models for rebuilding healthy communities- to revolve around the acceptance and inclusion of the entire community, as opposed to the division and separation maintained by social conditioning. After Lucidity Festival’s successful first endeavor, Satory Palmer left our founders circle, selling his partnership to pursue his own career as CEO of Synaptic Productions and to help finance his first-time event Lunacy, in October 2012. We are not partnered with Synaptic Productions, nor do we have any business association with Lunacy Festival. Lucidity Festival, LLC is rapidly growing and restructuring to accommodate larger and more diverse projects, to include but not limited to: the development of Intentional Communities and self-sufficient regenerative systems, producing retreat-style and more focused intentional events, festival start-up and consultation, lucid marketing, and conscious media, to name a few… also to include the growing of Branches Mobile Gallery and I AM Healing. We’ve grown tremendously in the last year, as individuals and as a thriving community entity. We look to the horizon and see that the future is brighter still. We are so looking forward to the magic and mystery that lies ahead, and in sharing that with you, lucid dreamer. http://lucidityfestival.com/artists/guildworks-architecture-air RAINBOW SERPENT MUSIC & ART FESTIVAL 2014 GuildWorks announces an astounding journey to the land down under, our first installation project in Australia. The build has begun, here are some preliminary progress shots we just received this past weekend. We highly encourage you to find your way to experience Rainbow Serpent Festival 2014, located in the heart of Lexton, Victoria. Our work will be decidedly memorable as we provide shade and artistic definition to the festival grounds featuring some of the top musicians and artists of creative conscious culture. Rainbow Serpent Festival has come a long way over the years. From a small gathering in a secluded clearing to an internationally recognized, multifaceted weekend of dance, color, expression and celebration. People now travel from all over the world to Western Victoria to experience what some have said is the best outdoor festival of it’s type in the Southern Hemisphere. For many of the 10,000-plus people that attend each year, Rainbow has become an institution and annual reunion, a marker in the year that’s anticipated for months in advance. For others it’s a fresh discovery of opportunity and escapism, a chance to connect with like- minded individuals and to celebrate nature, community and harmony. Perhaps the continued success of Rainbow can be credited to the broad experiences and opportunities on offer. No longer just an electronic music festival these days you can expect to experience a unique combination of music, art, performance, spiritual education, relaxation and healing. Music has always been a highlight of Rainbow. From the early trance days to the broader musical style of today, one thing Rainbow has never compromised on is the quality of its acts. With world class décor, roving artistic performances, and crazy activities, you can't imagine a more exotic sensory mix spread over four days. Put simply, if you’ve never been to the Rainbow Serpent Festival, now is the time! Golden Rebar for Best camp By far the most colorful and elegant camp, Sacred Spaces Village-Ascension Gateway Camp receives the highly coveted Golden Rebar for Best Camp 2013. The professional team of GuildWorks built an array of dome-temples based on sacred geometry and dedicated to each vehicle of ascension: Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit, enclosed in a stretch fabric facade, creating a huge courtyard private from the playa, shaded by a mesmerizing canopy, the Metatron aerial mandala, made of tension fabrics kept together by tension line towers. (as seen at http://thisisblackrockcity.blogspot.com posted by Posted by P.Glade at on Oct 24, 2013) GuildWorks was proud to once again support the annual summer event, the Waterfront Blues Festival which was held July 4th through the 7th. Attending festival fans donated a record-breaking $1.3 million to fight hunger. Perfect festival weather, a high-powered lineup, committed sponsors, enthusiastic volunteers and generous blues fans helped make the 2013 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival a sensational success. In addition to the record breaking fan support, blues fans contributed 78,198 pounds of food, and the Oregon Potters Association raised close to $16,000 for Oregon Food Bank through sale of pottery at its Empty Bowls booth. Our tension structures provided an artistic flair and the functional forms to protect festival goers, production staff, and artists from the blazing summer sun on several stages, backstage, and on the main dance floor. We heard from many festival goers that were so thankful for our work the allowed them to enjoy the hot summer day. To learn more visit http://www.waterfrontbluesfest.com. Pickathon 2012 is just days away folks! We are excited and in full on production mode, indeed, our crew essentially will be installing and helping in coordinating these grounds from sunrise 'till sunset, right up until Thursday so that by Friday we'll be ready for doors. This installation requires over 175,000 square feet of architectural fabric that has all been specifically designed for this event! This installation is truly a complex and sometimes mind bogglingly intricate dance of fabrics, ropes, and lots and lots of knots. We have 8, 50ft Boom lifts to help us navigate the grounds and get to the heights needed to tie off these fabric pieces high up in the air. It has been incredible to be out here and see what actually goes into all of this production. The field, where we have been primarily focused on up to this point is only one of the many places we add our architectural fabric structures. We also have installed several large bamboo structures throughout the grounds and those will also have fabrics tensioned off of them as well. The magnitude and complexity of this project is absolutely amazing, we are now 6 days away from the beginning of this festival and to think that all that is here and installed (and will be installed over these last 6 days) wasn't here a mere two weeks ago is incredible. Thank you for visiting and seeing where we're at with this glorious installation, please check back over the next several days leading up to Pickathon 2012 for more pictures, time-lapse videos, and more!
